Gift Guide: Practical Gifts People Actually Want

Sometimes the holidays create unnecessary pressure to give really heartfelt and meaningful gifts. But as an adult, I’ve learned that most people just want something from “their list.” They want that thing they’ve had their eye on but wouldn’t spend the money on for themselves. Here’s a list of items we use regularly that make our lives easier and will definitely be USED and loved by anyone on your list.

We use this thing weekly — aka any time we make frozen pizza. The spinning pizza oven evenly cooks pizza, wings, chicken nuggets, and more. It has a heat source on both the top and bottom to create crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside deliciousness. It’s also worth noting that the Pizzazz we have is at least 14 years old and still kicking.

This may be a controversial pick, considering the Stanley Cup obsession that has swept the internet. I’ll admit I’ve never tried a Stanley Cup because I’ve been so happy with my BruMate. We have three: this tumbler and two water bottles. No matter how hot it is — in our work shop or in the middle of a DIY — our drinks stay cold in these things.

Our house is filled with sawdust, dirt, and dog hair — but this is our saving grace. We use this hand vacuum every single day to get small messes, dog hair tumbleweeds and tracked in mud and sand. It’s designed for pet hair and even has an attachment made to eliminate pet hair from couches and rugs.

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to be more environmentally friendly in 2023 is to ditch plastic shopping bags. This car truck organizer with side pockets and an insulated cooler make it so easy to transport groceries from the store to your home.

If anyone on your list is interested in gardening, this set is a great gift. This is the same set that Chance uses and it includes an apron, six tools, a spray bottle, gloves, and a carrying case.

Most people use their luggage until it’s falling apart at the seams. An updated weekend bag is always a great gift. This modern option is made of real leather and has a larger zipper and a separate shoe compartment. The bag features a detachable shoulder strap and durable hand straps, plus it’s available in 12 colors.

We use our cast iron skillet for everything we make on the stovetop. It heats up quickly and evenly and just cooks so much better than any of our other pans. You can’t go wrong gifting this to anyone on your list from the novice cook to the culinary queen.

This is another purchase from this year that we don’t know how we ever lived without. We added it to our back door, which opens to our back porch. This magnetic screen now allows us to keep the doors open and let the dogs come in and out on their own without worrying about bugs.

The New Year is a great time to start new habits and routines. A classic, well-made notebook is always a gift. Choose from lots of colors, as well as lined or unlined pages.
